Strange Bug?
Here are some pictures of a bog I found in my yard. We have no idea what it is.

Great Herpetology Resource for South Carolina and North Carolina
Found a great website today.
The Carolina Herp Atlas whose primary objective as stated on their site is “… Is to provide detailed data on the distribution of reptiles and amphibians of North and South Carolina.”
It’s aweseom in that you can upload pictures and data on herps you’ve found in your area to the site. We plan on uploading a bunch of ours soon… the only problem is you have to enter the scientific name of the animal in order to upload the picture… It would be great if you could upload all the other data and allow the community to help identify which reptile or amphibian it is. But it’s a great site and I’m glad that they are collecting this data.
Rango Official Preview
Rango is an upcoming film starring Johhny Depp as a pet lizard that is accidentally released into the desert. The animation looks incredible- (it was done by ILM) Looks like there will be lots of other reptiles and creatures in the film. It opens in March 2011.
Fence Lizard
This is a awesome picture of a fence lizard. I tell ya they are fast little bougers. ;]
And no, he is not dead.
Baby Water Snake
This is a water snake i had found in my creek. I almost stepped on him!
Actually, after comparing this one to pictures online, I’m begining to think this may be a mole kingsnake. I have found mole kingsnakes in my yard before, but they were colored differently than this one.
Black Salamander
This salamander was really big. I don’t know exactly what type of salamander it is but if you do know please leave a comment telling me and i will be happy to post.

Baby Spike
Here’s a nice picture of my bearded dragon:Spike. He is now 4 but this is him at age 1. At that age he was about as big as my hand.
